🚲 There really is such a thing as perfect timing.
We just wrapped up a project with Fond du Lac Cyclery, and what better time to share it than on World Bicycle Day!
My friends Bart and Alyssa own the local bike shop here in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Alyssa and I have had many conversations about what a cyclist “should” look like—and came to this conclusion:
There is no mold.
Cyclists come in all shapes, sizes, goals, and athletic abilities. Whether it’s mountain biking, road riding, or daily commuting, this community is made up of real people who simply love being on two wheels. That’s exactly what we wanted to celebrate through this project.
Alyssa curated a list of customers they knew best—committed riders with a passion for their bikes (some owning five or more!). We invited them into my studio for professional portraits to showcase their love for cycling. I also captured close-up details of each bike to add richness to the visual storytelling.
The end result?
A social media campaign that featured powerful, real-life portraits—each image linking to a full blog post that offered deeper insight into the riders’ stories. These portraits now serve as a timeless photo archive, and can be used for future blog posts, website, marketing, or print ads.
An evergreen project, created with purpose.
Happy World Bicycle Day to all who ride—and especially those who inspire others to hop on and start their journey. 💥
