Zaiden is definitely one driven kid! When he’s not playing trumpet in band and marching band, he’s helping manage the stage for the high school play. And in his spare time? He’s climbing rock walls!
Zaiden’s senior session was split into two different shoot days so we could fully capture all the things that make him who he is.
For day one, we started on the Fond du Lac football field photographing him in his band uniform. Fond du Lac is lucky to have such a beautiful new field, and it made for an amazing backdrop. From there, we headed backstage at the theatre for a completely different vibe. One of my favorite things about photographing backstage is all of the colorful lighting and dramatic atmosphere—it made the images feel creative and cinematic.
Day two took us to Appleton and was all about climbing. Odyssey Climbing + Fitness was kind enough to let us use their facility for photos, and we arrived early enough to have the entire place to ourselves. The gym offered so many unique textures and backdrops that perfectly showcased Zaiden’s love of climbing.
After the gym, Zaiden showed us some incredible murals he had discovered downtown. The bright colors were such a fun contrast to the rest of the session, and one mural even featured a trumpet—which felt meant to be! To tie everything together, Zaiden wore a sharp black suit with a purple tie and the coolest purple-and-white Nikes that matched the vibe perfectly.
What I loved most about this session was how personal it felt. Every location reflected a different part of Zaiden’s personality and passions. Those are always my favorite kinds of senior sessions—the ones that truly tell a story.
